About Rise Bmore

Watch :: Judah Adashi talks to Baltimore Magazine about Rise Bmore

Rise Bmore was launched on April 19, 2016 to mark the one-year anniversary of Freddie Gray’s death. The event at Mt. Vernon Place United Methodist Church began with a conversation about art and activism in Baltimore, followed by a concert. The evening culminated in a performance of Rise, by Judah Adashi and Tameka Cage Conley, bearing witness to America’s ongoing civil rights struggle.

In 2017, Rise Bmore became an annual tradition: a free evening of words and music, of and for Baltimore, in honor of Freddie Gray.

Featured artists have included Lafayette Gilchrist, Sharea Harris, Aaron Maybin, Martina Lynch, Hannah Sawyerr, Sonja Sohn, Tariq Touré, D. Watkins, and Howard University's Afro Blue.
